A blend of 40% Carignan with 30% each Grenache and Syrah, with one-third of the assemblage aged in oak, the 2016 Faugeres Masoschistes hints at crushed stone and thyme, with plenty of red and blue berries in support. It's medium to full-bodied, with dry, dusty tannins and some pencil shavings on the long, slightly herbal finish. RP
